Hiya

The name is Dexter Freshman. I don’t take myself too seriously. I believe there’s always a different way of doing things – and I usually do it the different way. I guess you could call it the Dexter Difference. For better or for worse, this is my curse. Here I am eating a pepper from Mr Moussaka.

Photography

I’m a foodie, yes – but I’m also a Professional Food Photographer. When a photographer photographs something he really likes, you know the shots are going to turn out good. That’s why I don’t photograph weddings*, because I don’t really like people. But I do like food.

*I will do weddings on request, although you can expect more pictures of the buffet than of the bride.

Words

People eat with their eyes these days, so it’s important to put tasty imagery and delicious words in front of them. I have written copy for 100s of websites with a laid-back approach to tone of voice. I like to convey personality through words, and if I can get under the skin of a brand, I find it very easy to write in a style that they would like to be perceived. Fun fact; my first paid job was as a video game journalist! I learned a lot from the Editor and I absolutely love to write.

Illustrations

I enjoy drawing, I’m passionately creative which means I do this sort of thing for love and pleasure. Some of my mad drawings have even become purchasable products. It’s a funny old world.

Websites & Branding

Mr Moussaka is a cumulation of my talents; a successful brand that I created with my father-in-law over lockdown and it’s currently in its second year. My website allows customers to shop for Greek food, prepared and delivered locally by Mr Moussaka! The website and concept is a showcase of what I can do when I do things differently. I’ve built 100s of websites but this one is a favourite of mine.

Bit More?

I previously worked as a radio producer for around 8 years before forming my own path. I am working on inventive ways of combining my skills to reach a wider audience of leisure-seekers.

If I can help you with any of the above or you just want a recommendation of a nice place to eat, drop me a line at hi@dexterfreshman.co.uk or you can peruse my unkempt Instagram account at your own peril.
